O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe

Few years ago, Suntec City was one of the mall that we visited at least once a month. That's when Carrefour still there. Then after it's closed and Suntec was on major renovation, then we hardly go there anymore.

Marina Square | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.com
Marina Square also undergone revamp with new gourmet-dining
zone on forth floor and an additional retail wing.

Recently we went there for buffet lunch at Kuishinbo to celebrate my hubby's birthday in January. We had quick dinner at Long John Silver's at Marina Square before going to Hong Bao River during Chinese New Year.

Enjoying the view of Marina Bay Sands from The Gallerie Food Court
while waiting for my Korean BBQ Pork from the stall.

After that, we're going to 'I Light Marina Bay' Light Art Festival.

 Hohoho... see what I found?!

O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe right at the escalator before the food court. I didn't know that they have a branch here.

O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.sg
Introduced and treated my friend cold Bingsu after sweating having
Korean BBQ Buffet at K.Cook in the afternoon.

Let me check with my friends for the photos of Strawberry bingsu and green tea bingsu because my HP was flat when waiting for our bingsu to be served.

Cafe Bene Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.com
 They all hooked on sweet bingsu, it's like how I fell in love with it.

My Korean friend brought us to Cafe Bene and introduced bingsu on my first visit to Busan in 2012. My hubby and I were addicted to it. The above photo was in Chuncheon Myeongdong 3 days later after we had our first bingsu. :P

O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.com
Surprised to see that the store was empty.

Only after we finished our meal, there was a  family having their bigsu there. Actually not intended to have bingsu that day because we'd bought 2 cups of Gong Cha Buble Tea.

O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.sg
 But I couldn't resist the sweet bingsu especially
it's the bingsu that I craved for so long.

O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.com
313@Somerset branch was always crowded. I hate to queue and
have to rush to finish my food when people waiting for a table.

 O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.sg
 These seats were waiting for me~!^^

My son and I just walked-in to order first while waiting for my daughter and hubby to finish their meals.

Although everything looks so tempting, but my bias always go to
mango or something with Oreo and chocolaty taste.

Ice Lab Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.sg
But about 2 months ago, we just had Mango and Yogurt Bingsu at Ice Lab...

O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.com
They have 2 types of Bingsu:
Snow flake and Premium Snow Flake Bingsu.

 O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.sg
We ordered Premium Choco Brownie Bingsu
(초코브라우니빙수) - SGD18.90.

O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.com
 Irresistible snowy milk flakes topped with 3 bite-size of American Brownie, Oreo crumble,
sliced Banana, a scoop of Chocolate ice cream and sprinkled with Almond!

O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.sg
You can pour condensed milk to add the sweetness.

 O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.com
This bowl is good for sharing for 2 person. You can
get Petit Bingsu for smaller portion.

Who said you can't have the whole bowl for yourself? I can finish it by myself, but considering the price... I could have 2 plates of Korean BBQ pork and drinks. I'll have it more often if it's cheaper! ;P

O'ma Spoon Korean Dessert Cafe | www.meheartseoul.blogspt.sg
Milky ice shaved looks like shredded coconut,
just that it's very soft and melted as soon as it touch your mouth.

When we're eating, we found that half of the bowl of milky flakes melted. It's not watery, but instead turned to ice cream consistency. However, I prefer to shaved texture, though my son has no preferences as he said both still yummy. Maybe next time need to finish it faster, and try to scoop it very gently.

Actually some Korean Korean Buffet Restaurant (Todai, Nature Kitchen and Ashley Queens) in Korea have bingsu corner for desserts. However, they're using normal ice and their machine not producing those fine snowy shaved fresh milk. Is there any Korean Dessert Buffet where I can have  bingsu and satisfy my sweet tooth?

Visit Korea Special VIP Tour [Day 1-1]

Visit Korea Special Invitation VIP Tour | by Meheartseoul
Total of 14 members of Visit Korea VIP Special Invitation Tour arrived in Incheon Airport on 18 Nov 2015. I think participants from South East Asia Team arrived first, as most of our flights landed in Incheon around 4:00 - 7:00 am. However, Jas Eonni flight from Malaysia was delayed for 2 hours.

It took 6 hours direct flight from Singapore to Korea. Korean Air really know how to pamper their passengers. They provided small pillow, blanket, sandal for more comfortable flight. Meal and snacks were served. They have 3 options of menu for meal, and of course there's no problem if you need vegetarian or Halal food if you let them know earlier.

Reached the airport at 5:30am, I was so surprised to see super long queues at immigration regardless they have many counters open for visitors, which citizens were separated on other queues. This proved that Korea is one of the top and popular travel destination.

While queuing, Nazza from Thailand also arrived and in the queue. I went behind so we can queue together. I'd no problem recognized her as I saw her photos. We also created Kakao group chat of 6 members (Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippine and Japan) before this VIP Tour.

After cleared immigration and collected our luggage, we walked to waiting area opposite Starbuck to look for Lucky, as she's the first one to arrive in the airport.

Banana Milk | www.meheartseoul.blogspot.com
Bought banana milk (바나나우유) and cheese bread for my breakfast.

Best K-Smile Queen | www.meheartseoul.blogspot.com
Glad to see that there were 2 officers at Tourist Information counter, as I need to get some
information on my trip to Korea with my family after this VIP Tour.

I was served by pretty and nice officer, 김유진. She's very helpful and did his best to source for all the information I needed. She even helped me to jot down which bus to take, where to alight and transfer. She gave me map, discount coupon for Lotte World, and travel guide Korea booklet. Not only that, she tried to contact Buyeo office because she's unable to book the tour for me. But Buyeo office not yet open as it's still early.

She served me and others visitors and locals professionally and not rejecting anyone that need help although she's still assisting me. I only found out that she's actually serving in Japanese language when I asked her permission to take photo as I wanted to nominate her as Best “K-Smile Queen." which was also our third mission (promote K-smile Campaign by introducing friendly locals we meet during the tour). She was shy and said that she didn't speak good English, but I told her that actually he has very good command in English. The most importantly, she served with heart.

Suddenly Tere walked to me, and only then I found out that they'd been waiting for me, as they will arrange transportation for Jas eonni separately. I'm so sorry for waiting... 김 언니, 정말 미안해요~!

KTO is super generous to allocate one person in this spacious double-bed room
at  CenterMark Hotel which is located at the heart of Insadong.

Appreciate much that KTO decided to let us rest in the hotel while waiting for Japan group to arrive, because I was dead tired as I didn't have proper sleep for few nights. Added that I couldn't really sleep in the plane because of turbulence, baby crying and people talking.

Late autumn foliage at Center Mark Hotel | www.meheartseoul.blogspot.com
 Though in the same hotel, but this time round I saw autumn foliage and
mountain view from my room at 11th floor instead of Jongno Tower.

I stayed here for 2 nights before, therefore I'm quite familiar with this hotel. So without further ado, I quickly jumped on the bed after set alarm to wake me up in 30 minutes. After that I'd warm shower to refresh myself before gathering again at the lobby. Please click my previous post for more information about this hotel.

Korean people always want people to eat well. It's common to hear people asking someone "밥먹었어요?" (Did you eat?) as a greeting. So, when come to food, KTO really pampered and fed us well!

Our first meal was Hansik Buffet at Hongdae,

Tasteful exotic Korean sentiment interior design. | www.meheartseoul.blogspot.sg
 And I'm pretty much amazed by the tasteful exotic Korean sentiment interior design.

I think this restaurant is an art piece in itself. They're using Jukbuin (Bamboo Wife) as lamp decoration. They also use Jangdokdae / Onggi (장독대 / 옹기) as water fountain and pots for plants. The other part of the dining hall looks like pavilion to me. If you notice, main dish table is giant Korean bowl.

Philosophy of Hansik (Korean Food) | www.meheartseoul.blogspot.sg
It reminded me about my Korean Tea Ceremony's Teacher in Seongyojang
 when I saw 5 colors (red, green, yellow and black and white) beans and Bibimbap counter.

She told our family that Philosophy of Hansik (Korean Food) was based on Ying-Yang and the five elements (earth, water, wood, metal and fire) concept. Korean food culture believes that food and medicine originate from the same root, therefore, there is no better medicine than food. That's one of the reasons I love Korean food because it's balance and healthy!

[Spice Market] - Tantalizing Korean Buffet Dinner

Welcome to meheartseoul humble blog, where I share my unforgettable sweet memories
we were treated to a sumptuous lunch buffet
Novotel Lombok is thoughtful and know how to pamper their guests. They make sure you don't need to eat the same boring menu everyday by arranging different theme buffet and show every night!

[Spice Market] - Korean Buffet Dinner | meheartseoul.blogspot.com
Thematic Buffet Dinner @Novotel Lombok.

We're so thankful for the complimentary dinner at Spice Market. Actually, even if we need to pay for the dinner, we'll still choose to have it there as it's more convenient. We really want to rest after spent whole day outside.

[Spice Market] - Korean Buffet Dinner | meheartseoul.blogspot.com
Spice Market (left) and Breeze Bar (right).

Not only that, we've been warned by relatives and friends not to go out on our own at night. Even local tour agency or driver did tell us to skip some of the places for safety reason. Well, maybe it's not as safe as in Bali yet.

For those with weaker stomach or low immune system especially children, please be careful to select clean restaurant if you wish to dine outside. We don't want our holiday ruined by food poisoning because of poor standards of food hygiene. Yeah, it's better safe than sorry...

[Spice Market] - Korean Buffet Dinner | meheartseoul.blogspot.com
 Spice Market Restaurant facing Putri Nyale Beach.

Surprised as we didn't expect to taste Korean cuisine in Lombok. I guessed this Korean buffet must be Mr Choi's brainchild. Although Korean food seems simple, but the real preparation  is really no joke. I think he and his wife must have put a lot of efforts teaching the chefs how to cook these delicious, healthy and hearty meal.

Personally, I think it's a compelling buffet theme that it's hard to resist by tourists especially after Hallyu (한류 = Korean Wave) drew so much attention from all corners of the world with K-dramas and K-pop.

[Spice Market] - Korean Buffet Dinner | meheartseoul.blogspot.com
 Omo~! It's so romantic with lighted heart-shape on the hill.
~~~Love is in the air~~~
We're totally in love with the settings and the entire atmosphere. '아저씨 (Ajusshi)' was played on the background when we stepped in the restaurant. The selection of  Korean songs perfectly matched the theme and creating enjoyable and relaxing dining ambiance.
Tadaa~!!! Impressed with the sumptuous spread of All You Can Eat Korean Buffet:
[Spice Market] - Korean Buffet Dinner | meheartseoul.blogspot.com
You can find familiar Beef Bulgogi, Grilled eel,
Lamb Sate, Chicken Sate and Galbi (Beef Short Ribs).
[Spice Market] - Korean Buffet Dinner | meheartseoul.blogspot.com
The most busy station with two chefs helping guests to BBQ,
stocking sate, shrimp and sotong.
They smartly placed the grill far far away from the seating, so no need to worry that your body will stink with BBQ smoke. Btw, you don't even need to BBQ the food, the chefs will gladly help you and you only need to come back in few minutes.
 [Spice Market] - Korean Buffet Dinner | meheartseoul.blogspot.com
Happy hubby collected his BBQ food hot from the grill.
[Spice Market] - Korean Buffet Dinner | meheartseoul.blogspot.com
Pungent smell of various types of fermented Kimchi:
Seafood Kimchi Salad | Korean Beef Salad | Cabbage Kimchi |
Salad Cucumber Kimchi | Kimchi Soup.
I tried most of the main dishes except for Bibimbap and Kimchi Fried Rice. I'd  these two dishes almost 2-3x per week when sending my daughter to her tuition. I also skipped those with beef. Overall, they were quite delicious and satisfy my taste buds. 정말 맛있어요~!^^
Actually, I was expecting to see typical Korean Fried Chicken, because it's easier to prepare and usually pair with beer. Chimaek (치맥  = Chicken + Maekju/Beer) is Cheon Song Yi's favorite snack in romantic K-drama 'My Love From the Star.'
[Spice Market] - Korean Buffet Dinner | meheartseoul.blogspot.com
Mouth-watering sweet treats at dessert counter.
Hotteok, Kiwi Tartlet, Rice Pudding, Orange Pancake, Mochi,Pumpkin Tart and
Wedang Ronde (Javanese dessert similar to 'Tang Yuan' Glutinous Rice Balls).
[Spice Market] - Korean Buffet Dinner | meheartseoul.blogspot.com
 I got a real sweet tooth! Really couldn't resist those sweet desserts.
Completed my meal with three rounds of desserts, as I craving for Korean desserts and as you know  my tummy allocated larger space for  desserts. I couldn't stop eating the unique taste of rice pudding, sweet pancake and kiwi tartlet. Actually hotteok quite nice too if it's softer.
