Jeonju is a popular and important touristy district because of its historical charms and pampered with lots of delicious delicacies. Jeonju is really a perfect name for this perfect area (전 / Jeon = perfect, 주 / Ju = area).
Free Shuttle Bus from Seoul to Jeonju.
I just checked the website for online booking, and found that
they're adding information on the calendar.
Therefore, it's easier to plan if you're interested to join the festivals such as: Jeonju International Film Festival, Hanji Festival, Namwon Chunhyang Festival,... However, the bad news is they started to charge $10.00 (KRW 10,000) from April
2016 onwards.
Pick-up point is located at
parking lot of 동화면세점
Donghwa duty free
shop - blue long signage.
(Gwanghwamun Subway Station Exit 6 - opposite Cheongyecheon Stream).
Actually the fee is cheap considering it's for round trip (same fare for one way trip), and so much convenient as you can do the booking one month in advance, so no need to rush to crowded bus terminal and worry that you might not be able to get the ticket.
Afraid that taxi will reject riding 4 person with 3 big luggage,
we came out from hotel about an hour earlier.
Happily took few dozens of selfies with Cheongyecheon
Stream as background.
Admiral Lee Sun Shin at Gwanghwamun Square
and spotted someone shooting video there.
While waiting for the bus, suddenly two Ahjumma turned me to face them, and another one started flipping my skirt (치마). They talked but I didn't catch what they said as I was too startled.
"예쁘다!" both of them nodded they heads after satisfied checking from top to bottom and front and back. I also followed their actions to look at myself trying to figure out whether I wore it wrongly or something went wrong...
엄마야~ actually they just want to admire the beauty of the hanbok. They made me stunned like mannequin!
The workers decorating Christmas tree at Seoul City Hall.
After the guide checked our printed tickets and passports, we boarded the bus and left Seoul at 8:00 am. There were about 80 foreigners in two buses on that day. We identified there was a group of 6 Singaporean sat behind us as they're talking in Singlish.
On the way to Jeonju~!!!
15 minutes resting at JeongAn Service Area.
It took about one hour from Jeong-An (정안) to Jeonju.
