The Admission ticket to Suncheon Bay Garden includes Suncheon Bay Wetland. The city tour bus can also drive you to the Wetland Reserve, but we missed the bus and didn't want to wait for the next one.
So we opted for another option which was riding this cute Sky Cube.
Sky Cube Railcar KRW 8,000 per person
The railcar passing by the Windmill, the Tank...
and a vast reed field...
However, you'll still need to walk a long way from the railcar station to the entrance.
It was such a windy day...my hair was totally a mess!
Walking on the wooden boardwalk against the wind!
The strong wind blew relentlessly such that the whole field of reeds started to sway and dance...
Suncheonman Bay's reed field covers a total area of approximately 495,867㎡.
The reed field starts from the confluence of Dongcheon and Isacheon
Streams,
and stretches along both sides of the stream for approximately 3 kilometres
until it reaches the main reed colony at Suncheonman Bay.
The reed fields in Suncheonman Bay are thickly covered with tall reeds.
It is the biggest colony of reeds in Korea. Let's camouflage here...
Suncheonman Bay Wetland Reserve is a natural habitat for birds of over
140 species,
including migratory and endangered bird species such as the
hooded crane,
white-naped crane, Oriental White Stork, black-faced
spoonbill,
Eurasian Oystercatcher as well as birds designated as natural
treasures.
You can see the Suncheon City Tour bus decorated with big hooded crane,
a crab and mudskippers which are habitat in this Wetland.
Too bad that we didn't have enough time to go to the wetland, and had to take a
taxi because we're rushing to catch KTX back to Seoul.
That's also ended our Suncheon City tour during which we had only managed to visit 2 places. It's sad that we missed out on so many places. We should have spent at least 2 days in Suncheon. Sigh~!
