[Tongyeong] - Samdo Sugun Tongjeyeong Naval Station (삼도수군통제영)

Our last two stops with Mr Lee, our Kisa-nim before he drove us to ferry terminal.

Samdo Sugun Tongjeyeong Naval Station (삼도수군통제영).

This historical site is deeply related with Admiral Yi Sun Sin. It's the headquarters where Korean Navy was trained during Imjin War.

It's located near to Traditional crafts exhibition hall (전통공예품전시판매장)
with beautiful two-story Hanok style buildings.

In fact, we didn't even go in... we just snapped these few photos in less than 5 minutes.

Sebyeonggwan Hall - view from Dongpirang Mural Village.

It's well known as one of the widest buildings of the Joseon Dynasty Period along with Gyeonghoeru Pavilion in Gyeongbokgung Palace and Jinnamgwan Hall in Yeosu-si.

Sebyeonggwan Hall symbolizes the ending of the war,
the washing away  and cleaning up of the weapons of war.

Sebyeonggwan Hall is placed at the foot of Yeohwangsan Mountain and overlooks Tongyeong. Right next to the hall are the remains of the naval base Tongjeyeong, which includes Unjudang (also called Jeseungdang, a military education center for the Joseon Navy) among others.

Chungnyeolsa Shrine with Hongsalmun (Red Pole Sacred Gate)

The Chungnyeolsa Shrine was built in 1606 to commemorate Yi Sun-sin’s achievements. Successive Naval Commander-in-Chiefs would perform a rite twice a year in the spring and fall.

This shrine also possesses the monument of Yi and twenty nine gravestones of later naval commanders. It is also known as a depository of the eight presents to Yi from the Wanli Emperor of the Ming Dynasty (National Treasure No. 440). The shrine was designated as Historical Site No. 236 in 1973.

Then Mr Lee brought us to this ES Club Tongyeong Resort.

Not in our itenerary, but he wanted us to see the
specatacular sea scenery from this resort.

And you can see many small, medium and big islands popping from the sea.

Would have loved to dip in this Infinity pool and enjoy the serene landscape.

And maybe to grill some seafood for dinner at night?

Red Camelia flowers were blooming prettily...

Jangsado Island... can't wait to see you soon!
