[Lombok] - Gili Petelu & Gili Mangkok

It's our last day in Lombok, but we still planned to visit few attractions before going back to Singapore.

Gili Petelu.

Nice place for snorkeling to see colorful fish like in giant aquarium. But, don't catch them even if you find nemo or dory, because saltwater fish quite difficult to breed as they require very tiny live hood that must be cultured. The boatman found starfish and showed to us and released it back.

Btw, the water temperature was lower than other Gili islands. According to the boatman it's because of the salinity was higher than other places.

Boatman and our guide dived in and harvested quite amount of shells
and seaweed.

Gili Mangkok.

 Big tunnel / cave.

Underwater cave?! Yes, you heard it correctly, the cave was connected to Tanjung Ringgit where the cannon located.

It said that Japanese built this cave to store the missiles, so inside
the tunnel might still have some remaining missiles inside... wow!

We didn't see a lot of fish here, but housing to different types of corals.

You can find weird shapes coral that looks like human's brain.
Some corals have fluorescent pigments and their colour
depends on the light they're exposed to.

These cabbage or rose (Foliose coral) and staghorn corals dominated there.

Swam back to the boat as we still have 3 places to go~!

[Lombok] - Tanjung Luar

 Last day in Lombok...

Need to check-out after having our breakfast.

4D/3N nice view for breakfast and dinner...

accompanied by 2 dogs, but I had to be very cautious as
there were many kittens around too... As you know I scared of cats!

Photo snapping time!

Hubby just impatient waiting for me at swimming pool.
(we didn't touch the swimming pool as back to hotel late,
and super tired after whole day snorkeling).

Ask hubby to take some photos since he got nothing to do ;P

  Enjoy the morning sea breeze...

 Ok, let's go~!

About 45 minutes drive from hotel... we reached Mataram,
provincial capital of West Lombok.

It's about 6:30 am, and traffic jam along the market...

Lines of Cidomos parking and waiting for customers
 in front of the market.

Stopped by to packet the same authentic Ayam Taliwang Nada
that we had yesterday for our lunch.

Fish mongers selling fresh caught fish and seafood near the
entrance of Tanjung Luar Port. According to our guide,
this fish market is known for selling Sharks!

2 hours comfortable ride with private MPV car.
Yes, we spent lots of time traveling for 4 days using this car.

Tanjung Luar Harbour to go to southeastern of the peninsula.

This harbour is more like old fishing village with
most locals are fishermen  as you can see rows of boats along the beach.
Too bad it's quite dirty with lots of debris everywhere.

Here comes our boat...

Let's go to Gili Petelu

with our experience and nice boatman!

[Lombok] - Gili Kondo (길리 곤도)

Leaving Gili Kapal to Gili Kondo...

But our guide told us that we're going to have lunch at the sea
at the other side of Gili Lampu.

Ayam (Chicken) Taliwang, special local food from
famous restaurant, which the traditional way of cooking handed down
from the chef that previously do the cooking for the King of Lombok.

Just relax and had short nap on this calm water...

  Welcome to Gili Kondo.

 Idyllic Island for secret escape!

Although we saw another boat, but didn't see other visitors there...

Tour guides and boatmen hiding inside the hut.

Free time to explore the whole island...

Perfect spot to admire the beauty of Gili Kondo...
see the calming blue sea and sky, listen to the soft sound of waves and wind.

Or walk to further end for another good view, however there's no shelter.

You have the luxury to enjoy the whole island
up to your heart's content.

We didn't snorkeling because hubby said he's tired and
there's no place to change our cloths. Don't want to catch cold
because wearing wet clothes for few hours on the way back to hotel.

Drying up myself but don't want to become charcoal.

Time to go back~! See you again!
