Just Jeju (Oedolgae Rock, LoveLand, E-Mart Jeju)

Recommended Tourist Attractions by Taxi Tour in Jeju Island III | by Meheartseoul
As Grandfather statues (Dol hareubang) is the symbol of Jeju... you can easily find them all around the island. They are considered to be gods offering both protection and fertility and were placed outside of gates for protection against demons. Now let's go to  find pretty Grandmother Rock (Halmangbawi)!

6. Oedolgae Rock (외돌개) / Grandmother Rock
Oedolgae was named for its isolated location on the sea. The 20 meters stone pillar "Oeodolgae" and 10 meters in circumference standing at the beautiful beach of Samebong Peak and located 2 km from the west of Seogwipo. It was formed by volcanic activity at the same time as Jeju Island 1.5 million years ago.

It is also called Grandmother rock (Halmangbawi).

The legend has it that an old woman waited for her husband to return from a fishing trip. When he didn't come back, she became a rock. On the tip of the rock, some pine trees and grasses grow, resembling human hair. It will give you the impression that the old woman forehead, sorrowful eyes and nose can be faintly seen on the left side of the rock. The open mouth will make you feel like the old woman is calling for her husband ㅠㅠ

There is a rock right under the Oedolgae that looks like it is floating.

It is said that the rock is her husband body before she become a stone pillar. Spreading like a folding screen, the oddly-shaped Fairy Rock (Seonnyubawi) cliff surrounds the rock as if it is trying to embrace the stone couple.

There's an almost-hidden stairway will lead you down to a bed of volcanic rock, a natural pool, and a prime location for cliff jumping and snorkelling. It's popular during summer months, the swimming hole is populated with locals and tourists seeking a cooling dip and soak in the summer heat.

7. LoveLand (제주러브랜드)
Mr Park told us that we can only go to Loveland on our way back to Jeju City. This time, he didn't join us in... he just politely said that he'll wait for us outside and asked us to enjoy ourselves ㅎㅎㅎ

Jeju Love Land is a theme sculpture park based on sensuality and eroticism. Twenty artists, mainly graduates of top art school Hongik University, helped open it in November 2004. It was the first such museum in Korea at that time.

The park as a whole looks like a piece of land art. This park is focused on a theme of sex and featuring 140 sculptures (40 within the gallery and 100 outside) representing humans in various sexual positions.

Why you should visit there?
Because... it's fun and even the statues are enjoying themselves!!! ;P

8. E-Mart Jeju (이마트 제주점)
We asked Mr Park to drive us here to nearby shopping mall or eatery place instead of hotel. He's so thoughtful and told us that he'll picked us after our dinner. We told him that it's fine for us to go back ourselves as we might want to go shopping after dinner. And it'll be inconvenience for him to come back if he's not around that area.

Where? Where are you?

Annyeong, are you looking for me?
I know your answer is... NO! ㅠㅠ (hiks hiks so sad ya). I's alright... just wanna update you even you don't want to know it ㅎㅎㅎ
I was hiding myself and cried a bucket full of tears on the day they announce the winners of Psy's Wiki Korea! No worry, I feel better now. Yeah, just that I'm not that lucky person. I believe everyone participated wish to win and put a lot of effort on it. Congrats to all the winners!!!
Here are few of events that I'm participating currently:
Find The Hidden Treasures of Korea! - KTO
This one quite challenging and a bit tricky.
I know I won't get the first prize, but my score still inside top 60 ^^
It's fun as I might get some useful information for my trip while hunting for the treasure boxes.
One stone kill two birds!!!

Chance to win one of these Samsung cameras - KTO

Hot Summer & Hot Event - iBuzzKorea

Last week was busy ordering for my customers. I bought shawl and winter jackets for our trip to Korea in Sep. I know you must be asking why I need winter coat? Yes, it's Autumn... sorry for being kiasu, but I'm really afraid of cold and we will sure need them for our trip in Feb 2014 ^^
And I keep changing my mind on the itinerary, and my excel sheets are in total mess!!! It's really hard to decide as Korea has so many many many places that I would not want to take out from the list. But, one week is definitely not enough especially travelling with my 2 kiddos.
To cater to their interest and to make sure they don't complaint too much on travelling time... we won't hop here and there. So, mainly will be in Seoul and Gangwon-do (Gangneung, Donghae, and Samcheok).
From KTO's website, I found Korea’s Most Unique Accommodations and I really wish to stay in Hanok (Korean Traditional House). I want them to experience Past and Present Korea. This 300 years Seongyojang House (강릉 선교장) will be my ideal choice. And another night will be Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht (썬크루즈). Wait, but how to make reservation?
I messaged BnBHero, as I want to make reservation for one night homestay in Seoul. At the same time, I asked whether they provide service to book Seongyojang Hanok House. They offered to help me although it's not under BnBHero. They even told me that they can contact Sun Cruise when I told them that I need to confirm the date, as they still not yet open for September booking.
They updated me early this morning on these 3 accommodation:
1. Seongyojang - they allow to pay on the spot when check-in (for foreigner).
2. Sun Cruise - waiting for reply
3. Homestay - they personally emailed to the host,  though BnBHero is a peer-to-peer system,  which
I have to talk to contact the owner directly. Yes, I did email to the host too, but still waiting for her
reply too. They told me that I selected very nice place, as it is a big house near  Gangnam area, and
it is usually rent for group, workshop or team. So, they're not sure whether the  host will accept my
request or not. I just hope that she'll let us stay in her lovely house ^^
Just want to thank BnBHero for their wonderful, reliable and extra mile service. Two thumbs up!!! Why not browse their website now... they have a lot of choices of accommodation. BnBHero Facebook fans can enjoy 50% discount of booking fee. So book it before 31 July 2013 (regardless of actual travelling date).

Exclusive for BnBHero Facebook Fans!!!

Appreciate much if you can message me the location of this buffet restaurant in Seoul if you happen to know or went there before. Is it recommended? Or do you have recommendation of nice buffet in Seoul?

Alright, I will try to post Just Jeju (Part V) by next week, as I'm expecting shipment to be in in these few days. Please wait for a while yah~
Thank you ^^

Just Jeju (O'Sulloc Green Tea Museum, Jusangjeolli Cliffs)

Recommended Tourist Attractions by Taxi Tour in Jeju Island IV | by Meheartseoul
Green Green Green~!!!
We're so lucky to have Mr Park as our tour guide. He's so kind and honest! Why I said so?
If you're in Indonesia... even you don't know the place that you want to go, please just pretend that you know it to avoid unpleasant experience... My friend was almost missed her flight as the taxi driver made a big round, which actually from our hotel in Kuta Bali to airport is less than 20 minutes. We kept questioning the driver and told him that we're late for flight.

Another incident was in Thailand... we saw on the tourist map that there's nearby shopping centre. It's unbearable hot, so we decided to take taxi... but we regretted it much. Not only you got heart attack to see the taxi fare, but also wasted your precious time... as we might reached that mall faster if we walked there.

Mr Park brought us to all the places that listed on our itinerary including those around Seogwipo area. He can actually just follow our itinerary and have more time to rest while we visiting that place of interest... 정말 고마워요 ^^

4. O'Sulloc Green Tea Museum

It was not in our itinerary, but grateful that Mr Park brought us here, which I enjoyed so much! First time visit tea plantation. By the way, I'm a tea lover (green tea, white tea, oolong tea, herbal tea, fruit tea, tonic tea,...), but I don't drink coffee :P

A Big cup of O'Sulloc Green Tea, anyone?

The “o” in “o’sulloc”, means to appreciate and enjoy, and it also stands for the origin of sulloc, only sulloc, and of sulloc tea. In September 2001, Amore Pacific opened OSULLOC Tea Museum, the largest tea museum in Korea, in Jeju-do. (source: Visit Korea)

Wohoo~~~ after a cup of tea and snack, we're ready for next destination... back to Seogwipo city!

Gu Family Book (구가의 서) OST & Lyrics

[Korea O-Train] Railroad trip from Seoul to Punggi | by Meheartseoul
A melodrama epic about the great deal of trouble Choi Kang Chi, born as a half-human-half-mythical-creature (or human werefox half-breed), who goes through in order to become human and a story of Choi Kang Chi’s journey of struggling in order to live more like a human than anyone else despite not being able to become human.

Choi Kang Chi (이승기) was raised by the Park family after having been picked up from the river. Due to customary restrictions of the era he is adopted by manager Choi instead, however Park Moo Sol takes on the role of being Kang Chi’s main father figure. Choi Kang Chi is the son of Gu Wol Ryung (최진혁), the guardian spirit (werefox) of Jiri Mountain, and Yoon Seo Hwa, his human mother.

Kang Chi is an outspoken character who’s full of curiosity. He realizes that he’s a half-human-half-beast through a certain incident and starts living his second life.

Dam Yeo Wool (배수지) is a master of martial arts and archery. Yeo Wool is an upright character who really values the Three Bonds and Five Relationships in Confucianism, and becomes an instructor at a martial arts center at a young age.

Love this drama much much... 대박!!! Diligently watched Gu Family Book (구가의 서) every single episode the moment it's uploaded. You can watch Gu Family Book through Gooddrama or other online streaming sites.

It's really an awesome drama. Really hope that there's season II or at least sequel and not just leave it open ending (Yeo Wool and others reincarnated 422 years later in modern Seoul city).

How about Gu Family book? I hope that Kang Chi will find it and become a human. Kang Chi and Yeo Wool will live happily ever... even though they met again beneath the peach blossom tree under a crescent moon.

Kang Chi ya~~~ see you soon... please don't make me wait for too long, ok?

My hand was quite stiffed after about 2 months not writing any Hangul characters... It's quite slow for me to write 잘 있나요 lyric, but after a while it's getting better and smoother ^^

Hope you guys enjoy it!! Which song do you like the most?

Just Jeju (Yeongduam Rock, Geumneung Beach, Hyeopjae Beach)

Recommended Tourist Attractions by Taxi Tour in Jeju Island | by Meheartseoul
Uh oh! I jumbled the places I visited in Jeju. Pardon me for my poor memory added with no sense of direction ㅠㅠ
Just referred back to my photo album, our first destination was Yongduam Rock before Hallim Park.

Jeju Tourist Attractions by Taxi Tour Blog | www.meheartseoul.blogspot.com
Jeju Map - places we visited in numerical order

1. Yongduam Rock Dragon Head Rock (용두암)

The 10m high and 30m long volcanic rock formation perched along the ocean side is said to resemble a dragon’s head.

There are several legends of how it came to be. One legend has it that a dragon stealing precious jade from Mt. Halla was shot down by an arrow from the mountain deity. When he fell down on Yongduam, his body immediately sank into the ocean and his head rapidly froze looking at the sky. Another legend has it that a white horse, who dreamed of being a dragon and ascending to the sky, came to be caught by a soldier and froze into the rock.

3. Hyeopjae Beach (협재해수욕장)

Hyeopjae Beach is located on the west side of Hanrim-eup, and is part of Hanrim Park. The beautiful white color of the sand comes from the large amounts of crushed seashells that have been mixed in with the sand. The long seashore stretches for 9 km and has cobalt colored seawater and evergreen forests scattered around the vicinity, making the scenery very beautiful. (Source: Visit Korea)
