[Jinhae] - Korea Naval Academy (해군사관학교박물관)

Actually we planned to go to Jehwangsan Park by City Tour, but changed our plan because the staff at KTO booth suggested us to go to Naval Academy first because their operating hours until 16:30.

Here is the pride and honor of Jinhae...

and this Turtle ship (Geobukseon) is Korea's national pride!!!

The Korean Naval Academy Museum was opened on the 30th
anniversary of the Korean Naval Academy (17 January 1976).

When it first opened, the museum consisted of only a small exhibition room.

But later there's an addition of a life-sized,
ironclad Geobukseon (turtle ship) on 31 January 1980.
We can now witness the real Turtle ship withh our own eyes!
Daebak!!!

On February 23, 1981 an independent museum building was opened at the site.
and on April 28, 1990, the museum was expanded to its current size.

The museum (2,622 square meters in total area) is housed in two separate buildings (a two-storey building and a three-storey building) and boasts three exhibition halls (Yi Chungmugong Hall, Navy Hall, and Naval Academy Hall).

The Yi Chungmugong Hall has on display 212 materials relating to
the life of the famous Korean navel leader General Yi.
(The top left picture, Korean Shaman regarded Admiral Yi as one of the deities).

At the Navy Hall, the history of Korea’s Navy is on display presentating 315 artifacts.

In the outdoor exhibition area, visitors can explore the interior of  life-sized turtle ship.

It's as if I'm at the filming site of “The Admiral: Roaring Currents"
What a majestic ship, isn't it?!

The cool Turtle Ship, the spearheads of Korean Navy was made in
1591 AD by Admiral Yi Sun-Shin.

He was the commander of one of the 4 fleets in the Korean
South Sea at the time and foresaw an invasion by the Japanese.
This Turtle Ship was first completed on 31 Jan 1980,
and rebuilt on 28 October 1999 by the Korean Navy
to succeed Admiral Yi's patriotic spirit.

It was recreated by using the military reports, personal journals of
Admiral Yi and other related records and historical evidence.

Still remember the scene of the battle where Admiral Yi didn't
just surrender although the winning chance was very slim though
they're greatly outnumber with about hundred of Japanese vessels.

He led his last 12 ships to battle although at first they were hesitatant to follow.
Bus his spirit of heroism and courage inspired
them to fight alongside him.
Frankly, without Admiral Yi, there won't be a victory for this battle.
Let's all fight to the end!

Your patriotism will be remembered though generations and generations!

It's really worth a visit, and we thank the taxi driver that guided us...

[Jinhae] - NFRDI Environment Eco-Park (진해내수면 환경생태공원)

We checked with KTO Booth at Yeojwacheon Stream whether there's any walkable distance attraction from there as I still have about 45 minutes to return the Hanbok dress...

We followed the stream to the end and we saw the entrance to the park.

We're greeted by a big bunch of beautiful red and yellow tulips
as soon as we walked to the park.
Jinhae NFRDI Environment Eco-Park (Inland Water Eco Park)
is part of the land of the Nambu Inland Water Research Center.

It lies on an area measuring 83,897 square meters.

This environmentally-friendly park boasts a splendid natural landscape
with over 65 different species of trees including cherry blossom, willow,
maple trees and also different types of flowers.
I'm so much green with envy to the residents of this area
because they can enjoy the luxurious scenery for 365 days!

This place must be very colourful during Autumn... as for now I can only imagine the reflection of the autumn leaves on the water...
According to Min Jung Eonni, the property price at Yeojwacheon Stream
skyrocketed to be one of the most expensive in Jinhae...

It has to thanks to its beautiful natural environment which
attracted a lot of tourists and locals especially during
Cherry Blossoms season.

Shooting location for SBS drama 'On-air 온에어' (2008).

I have to seize every second to absorb the positive energy before leaving.
Annyeong Fish~! Happy swim swim there...
Actually there's an exhibition, but we did not have much time left as
I need to change the Hanbok before hopping to Jinhae Bus Tour again.

The Two Faces of Yeojwacheon Stream (여좌천-벚꽃명소)

If you are looking for cherry blossoms in Korea, Jinhae is a must-go location. It's not only beautiful scenery, but also you'll find smiles on almost every faces. This positive enerdy definetely boosting up your mood and make you much happy.

Crowned as Cherry Blossom City, Jinhae offers many places for
cherry blossom sightseeing where almost the whole city is wrapped in
lovely pinkish-white spring flowers that bloom for about 14 days.

We went back to Jinhae again to witness the last day of
Cherry Blossom Festival (1-10 April) with our own eyes.

The day before we only managed to visit Gyeonghwa Station (경화역 벚꽃길).

So we decided to rejoin Jinhae Cherry Blossom Tour Bus where it very conveniently loops around 9 must-visit Cherry Blossom spots in Jinhae.

We took a taxi from our hotel to Jinhae station quite early. We checked with
KTO whether there's any place nearby that we can go first before joining
the first bus that starts at 10 o'clock.

The KTO's staff was so kind to walk us all the way from the booth until
this point where we saw this overhead bridge and told us to just
follow the path until we see the stream...
(photo was taken when we went back again in the evening)

Didn't know that it led to Yeojwacheon Stream until I saw this familiar
photo zone where a lot of photos appeared on my Facebook and
Instagram account.

If I knew earlier that  is just a walking distance from the station,
we would have visited here the night before...

Resting for the long walk~!

Perfect spot to rest and admire the beauty of the cherry blossoms. Watching the petals sway in the spring breeze fascinated me much~!

It's one of the most precious moments in my life as
there are no cherry blossoms in Singapore.

I kept repeating to my hubby that we have to come here again and again.
I hope that the dreamy shades of the blossoms will hypnotise him and
my words will be engraved in his mind!

Walk further down and you'll find another picturesque spot
at the bridge connecting two pedestrian paths....

"Romance Bridge"

It is called Romance Bridge because of  MBC drama "Romance (2002)," It was the shooting location where the two leading characters, Gwanu and Chaewon first met as tourists who came to Jinhae to enjoy Jinhae Gunhangje Festival. (Video 2:26)

The last kissing scene of “That Winter, the Wind Blows,” a 2013 SBS TV drama
starring Jo In-sung and Song Hye-kyo was also filmed here. (Photo: SBS)

Watch the above video for the falling petals with my favorite Trot song
"꽃" by 장윤정... I'll be your flowers and you'll be my tree~!

Excited to see Hanbok rental booth and was pleasantly
surprised to find that it's free of charge!

Quickly grabbed some street food and walked back to
the station to join the second bus at 11:00 am.

We came back to a different view of the now
illuminated Yeojwacheon Stream.

The cherry blossoms and light from the installations blend together,
creating a pretty and romantic ambience.
The reflection on the stream adds to the surreal scene.

The lighted umbrellas looked nicer at night...

Couldn't stop myself from taking photos... sorry!!!

What do you think? Is Yeojwacheon Stream more beautiful in
broad daylight or the enchanting moonlight?
