We arrived in this village of Seonbi (선비촌 = Seonbichon) around 8:15 am. Only nice chirpy sounds of birds welcoming us. ^^
Idolized as the ideal man during the Joseon Dynasty...
Korean Seonbi is virtuous scholar with dignity, honest spirit, and nobility character in integration of learning and action with proper behavior and moral commitment.

After waited for about 10 minutes, we decided to go in first. Although we afraid that we might fined us for entering without ticket, but we didn't want to waste our time just to sit there until 9:00 am.
Wanted to write a note, but I didn't know how to write it in Hangul. We put them at the corner near ticket counter for 2 reasons... We couldn't find locker to store our luggage, and to let them know that we'll be back to claim our luggage and pay for the tickets :P
Seonbi?! ^^
Yeongju had been a place that produced many Seonbi (Confucian scholars). Seonbichon was built in Sunheung-myeon. It's home of An Hyang (penname HoeHeon), who introduced Neo-Confucianism to Korea.

Seonbi's Simple lifestyle
They're divided into four zones which organized and exhibit in a manner to provide a holistic understanding of the lifestyle and value that Seonbi upheld:
* Ipsinyangmyeong (입신양명 / 立身揚名): winning success and gaining fame
about one’s material poverty.
Traditional handcrafts
It's a popular destination for Korean families, as you can experience a variety of educational and hands-on programs on Korea’s traditional culture and arts in this village. Here are some interesting things you can find around this Confucianist Village..
Traditional wooden totem poles (장승 = Jangseung) were set up at each
village’s entrance to mark the village boundaries.
Folk belief that Jangseung wards off evil spirits, fire or other disasters,
as well as to represent villagers' wishes for prosperity and well-being.
They're often worshiped as village guardian deities.
Miniature handcrafts of sotdae (솟대) tall wooden pole with a carved bird on its top.
It has the same function as jangseung.
